Grounds Maintenance Operative

Location: East KentFull-Time: Minimum 40 hours per week + overtimeSalary: £25,396 – £27,000

Due to recent contract wins, we are expanding our team!

The Role

We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Worker who lives in East Kent, to join our team and help maintain a social housing portfolio across the East Kent area. You will play a vital role in keeping outdoor spaces safe, clean, and attractive.

Your Responsibilities:

General Grounds MaintenanceGrass cutting, lawn care (mowing, strimming, and edging)Weeding and applying herbicides (if certified)Hedge and shrub trimming, pruning, and shapingLeaf and debris clearanceLitter picking and waste removal

Soft Landscaping & Plant CarePlanting seasonal flowers, trees, and shrubsWatering and irrigation to keep greenery thrivingBasic tree maintenance and hazard reporting

Hard Landscaping & Surface MaintenanceSweeping and power washing communal areasMinor fence and pathway repairsWinter gritting and snow clearance

Equipment & Compliance

Operating and maintaining machinery (mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, etc.)Following health and safety procedures and using PPEReporting hazards, damage, or maintenance issues

What We’re Looking For

A positive attitude and strong work ethicEnjoyment of outdoor, physical work in all weather conditionsPrevious experience in grounds maintenance (preferred but not essential)A valid UK driving licencePA1/PA6 herbicide application certification
