Job Responsibility:

We have an exciting opportunity, full of progression, for an enthusiastic Goods Inwards Operative to join our award-winning team at the British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry, Shropshire. We're looking for someone who enjoys a varied workday, learning about all areas of our exciting business and playing a crucial role in our supply chain.

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not required.
• Forklift license is preferred but not required, training may be provided if necessary.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items safely and efficiently.
• Consistent attendance and timeliness.
• Accuracy in receiving, inspecting, and processing goods.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external drivers.
• Adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
• Training and information will be provided on site.

Duties Include:

• Accurately receiving and signing for incoming deliveries from suppliers and couriers, checking against delivery notes/purchase orders.
• Safely unloading goods from vehicles using appropriate equipment.
• Inspecting incoming goods for damage, discrepancies, and correct quantities, reporting any issues immediately.
• Processing and updating relevant paperwork and electronic systems (e.g., GRN, inventory management system) with accurate details.
• Applying appropriate labels and identification to received goods for efficient storage and retrieval.
• Moving received goods to designated storage locations within the warehouse.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organised goods inwards area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Helping the warehouse manager and supervisors in the maintenance and safe running of the warehouse.
• Assisting with stocktaking and maintenance of accurate inventory records.
• Assisting with other areas of the business when required.
