The role
Do you have experience in delivering psychological care for patients and families?
Do you have the enthusiasm, motivation and experience to shape and create effective psychological care interventions for patients and carers?
As a new role within the Hospice, the successful candidate will be working closely with the Hospice at Home Team Leader on this exciting new project; building and shaping the service as well as supporting the audit and evaluation process of service outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to share your passion and skills in relation to the elevation of well-being and the promotion of self-care.
The expectation of the role is to ensure provision of the highest standard of psychological care for patients and their carers/families, utilising a non-pharmological, holistic approach. Following the development of a ‘psychological care tool-kit', the successful candidate will complete face-to-face assessments of the psychological distress of patients and informal carers. This will result in the planning and evaluation of individual care programmes for those individuals.
In addition, there will be a focus upon the education of internal staff in the techniques to allow them to provide ongoing support to patients and informal carers, with the ultimate vision on sharing this widely across the Hospice community and through the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Palliative and end of life care Network.
This post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
About you
You will have an appropriate professional clinical degree in addition to a relevant well-being or psychological care qualification, you will have experience of providing assessment and support of people presenting with psychological needs and experience of applying an assessment and management process.
Experience in Palliative Care/Oncology and experience of working within a hospice, hospital or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
