As the Construction Lead Tutor, you will be the linchpin for our alternative provision team. Your responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring the smooth delivery of the curriculum, upholding health and safety standards, and safeguarding our young people. You will advocate on behalf of the students and their families, ensuring they have a voice in the management of their education.

In this role, you'll be hands-on, working closely with students to help them acquire the skills needed to pass their BTEC in a construction-based field. Your leadership will be crucial in driving forward our educational provision and expanding opportunities for our learners.

Age Range: Secondary, Post-16Type of Role: Permanent, full timeDays: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Line Management: Act as the line manager for the alternative provision team, providing direction and support to ensure effective operation.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of the site, ensuring the curriculum is delivered effectively, and health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Safeguarding: Take responsibility for the safeguarding of young people, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for young people and their families, ensuring their involvement in the decision-making process.
  • Hands-On Support: Work directly with students, helping them develop the skills necessary to succeed in their BTEC construction courses.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We're looking for someone who is innovative, adaptable, and passionate about working with students. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications: A Level 4 or 5 professional qualification in education, health, or social care.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with students is essential. Experience in continuing professional development (CPD) is a plus.
  • Innovation: The ability to express creative ideas and adapt to the unique needs of each student.
  • Role Model: A positive and nurturing demeanor, serving as a role model for students with challenging behaviors.
  • Team Player: Strong teamwork skills, capable of collaborating effectively with a team of construction tutors.
