Job Responsibility:

The Focus of the Role: You will support the CFO and wider Leadership Team in providing meaningful, informed and timely commercial insight to guide decision making. This role is business facing, including deep working relationships with Managing Directors and the budget holders. You will be reporting to the CFO and will be based flexibly between London and home with some travel to our office in Peterborough.Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Financial Management (40% of time)
  • Co-ordination and delivery of accurate monthly management information and analysis to agreed timetable
  • Effectively manage direct reports to produce, interpret, and challenge financial results
  • Communicate risks, opportunities and trends ensuring reporting continues to evolve to support quick and accurate insight and decision making
  • Management of ad hoc information requests from the Business Area (BA)
  • Direct responsibility for management cost centres
  • Oversight of S/4 data model and SAP Analytics Cloud reporting processes
  • Approval of costs on owned cost centres and purchasing cards
  • Liaise with Frontline Group on accounting matters to ensure effective processes are in place
  • Develop strong collaborative working relationships with key contacts across the BA and Group to enable efficient and effective communication of financial performance.
Commercial Decision Support (20% of time)
  • Collaborate with and provide support to budget holders to enable insightful and timely decision making on financial and commercial matters
  • Collaborate with and support the leadership team to evaluate external business opportunities and threats
  • Support or create business case models to underpin proposed commercial deals
Budgeting and Forecasting (20% of time)
  • Coordinate UK team to deliver timely ambitious budgets and forecasts with associated insight and commentary
  • Review and refine reporting with MDs and CFO
  • Management of the rolling forecast model and long range plan model.
Line Management (10% of time)
  • Direct responsibility for 2 Finance Business Partners
  • Responsibility for the FP&A Analyst
Other (10% of time)
  • Deputisation for CFO as required
  • Liaison with auditors
  • Key interface with BCS, BA and Group Finance Teams
  • Other ad hoc projects and analysis
What You'll Bring:
  • Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with minimum 5 years PQE (preferably 10 years)
  • Proven track record in managing people
  • Experience of working at a senior level in a large, complex, commercial environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask to manage tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and disciplines
  • Extensive experience in Excel and Hyperion
  • Knowledge of S/4 Hana, SAP Analytics Cloud and Power BI would be an advantage
