The role:

The Reporting Triage & Assurance Team Leader supports the day-to-day operation of the British Airways Group Safety & Security Management System; coordinating the Reporting Triage & Assurance Team to triage and process safety and security issue reports, deliver key administrate functions and support the delivery of assurance activities.

What you'll do:

  • Performs the daily safety and security issue report triage function, including hazard/occurrence interpretation, analysis, classification, risk assessment, risk event and control model assignment, and stage/task workflow allocation, as required.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and timescales, including CAA 376/2014, Mandatory Occurrence Reporting (MOR), Reporting of Injuries, Diseases & Dangerous Occurrences Regulation (RIDDOR), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Type Certificate Holder (TCH), etc.
  • Chairs and/or supports the daily safety & security risk triage meeting, as required.
  • Administers a small team of ABS colleagues, ensuring fair and equitable distribution of tasks across the team.
  • Delivers key administrate functions and supports the delivery of assurance activities.
  • Supports corporate and line area risk management activities, escalations, resilience, investigations, etc.

Your experience:

Relevant university degree and/or comparable operational experience (desirable).

  • Recognised safety, security, risk, culture, investigation, audit and/or regulatory training/qualification (desirable).
  • Experience of British Airways risk management principles, industry regulations, standards and best-practice, AIR and Tableau (desirable).
  • Experience of leading the development of a Management System within a complex regulatory environment (desirable).
