We are looking for an entrepreneurial façade engineering lead to grow and develop a new business line for Hydrock, now Stantec. You will open up clients from our multi-disciplinary offering (including Civil & Structural, Mechanical & Electrical and Fire Engineering) as well as growing a team of façade engineers. To ensure the successful delivery of projects you will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other stakeholders. Your expertise in façade engineering will be essential in delivering high-quality, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing building exteriors.

Key Responsibilities:

Start and Grow Hydrock's Façade Business: You will be the focal point for all of Hydrock's Façade related works and be integral to winning both individual and multi-disciplinary bids for façade engineering.

Facade Design and Engineering: Lead the design and engineering of building facades, considering structural integrity, energy efficiency, material selection, and architectural aesthetics.

Client Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for clients regarding facade design and engineering aspects, addressing their concerns and ensuring their vision is realized.

Team Leadership: Grow and manage a team of facade engineers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure project success and professional development.

Project Management: Oversee the entire facade engineering process, from concept development to construction documentation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to integrate facade design seamlessly into overall building design and construction.

Material Selection: Research and recommend innovative facade materials and systems that enhance building performance, sustainability, and aesthetics.

Quality Assurance: Establish and implement quality control processes to ensure that facades meet industry standards, regulations, and client expectations.

Commercial Awareness: Managing and providing advice on matters relating to the commercial success of your new facades team.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to growing a façade engineering team and propose mitigation strategies to ensure the success of this new business venture.

You'll be set up for success if you have:

  • A Proven track record in Work-winning and business development
  • Experience of delivery in a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment working with challenging clients on world class projects.
  • The ability to build a strong team to support you in the delivery of façade engineering projects
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • A strong knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and regulations related to building facades both domestically and internationally.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
