Job overview

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Core) in Urology with or without Postgraduate Master's Degree at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence from 07 August 2024 for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

The duties of this post include working within the Department of Urology at junior level on a full shift rota (subject to confirmation and change).

Opportunities also exist for assisting in theatre and to be taught to perform minor and intermediate urological procedures. When on-call the post holder will work closely with the on-call Consultant who is freed from all elective activities in order to deal with on-call issues and provide on the job teaching.

In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification and have:

  • Completed their Foundation Competencies.
  • Experience of 6 months working in the NHS.
  • Previous experience in Surgery.
  • Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application.

This post may be suitable for those wishing to prepare for entry into specialist training at either CT1-2 or ST3 level, or gain equivalent experience. Previous post holders have successfully entered national training programmes in the UK as well as being successfully matched in the US/Canadian system.
