This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding linguist to step into middle leadership and to make a significant contribution to the development of French. Uptake at GCSE for French has been on a positive upward trajectory for the last three years. The school curriculum embraces French. At Key Stage 3 students study four one hour periods a fortnight in a fifty period curriculum model, more than any other optional subject at Key Stage 4. There is a large Creole community at HTS and the Crawley based school is near the Gatwick hub and therefore feeds into a local economy where employees having a second language would benefit the role. The successful candidate will require to evidence: how they meet the requirements of the attached person specification; their commitment to teaching across the 11-18 range; successful outcomes for students and achieving success through a team. In addition to teaching your primary subject across ages 11 to 18 there is an expectation that you may teach other subjects as directed in order to facilitate the delivery of the curriculum but this is highly unlikely for colleagues who teach French.
