What you'll bring to the team:

We are seeking a Finance Assistant - Intercompany to join us as an integral part of the Global Record to Report team. You will oversee the accurate and timely processing of financial control, accounting, and reporting activities in alignment with company policies and standards. Collaborating with various departments and key stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all intercompany transactions between Merlin entities are processed quickly, effectively and accurately. This is role is based at our Finance Hub in Basingstoke where hybrid working is offered.

Your key objectives will revolve around building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external business stakeholders, diligently maintaining financial controls and systems, and ensuring tasks are completed within scheduled timelines and accounting policies. Taking ownership of balance sheet accounts, you will conduct reviews with Finance hub managers, contributing to the overall financial integrity of the organisation.

Your main responsibilities include preparing monthly journals, ensuring accurate month-end reporting across international legal entities, completing balance sheet reconciliations, managing intercompany accounting and reconciliations, and maintaining financial controls in adherence to group policies. Your role also involves supporting various reporting strategies, including flash reports, and collaborating with internal and external audit teams, making a significant impact on the financial success of the organisation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or experience within a finance role (Beginner AAT considered).
• Experience of month end close process.
• Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
• Proactive individual with experience working in a flexible and changing environment.
• Be organised and methodical, with a curious attitude to question and refine process.
• Communication skills necessary to coordinate month end close across multiple functions.
• Attention to detail with a proactive approach to obtaining appropriate supporting evidence.
• Ability to flex at short notice during busy periods e.g. year-end close process.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup.
