More about your role

As our Apprentice finance assistant, you'll develop the skills knowledge and behaviours to start your career in finance with opportunities to see career progression into a finance assistant upon completion of the programme. You'll study a Level 2 Accounts/ finance Assistant qualification and access a bespoke learning and development programme.

Day to day you will complete tasks to support the wider finance team. This will include the smooth processing of invoices and payments, particularly in relation to joint ventures; Preparation and posting of journals and forecast / budget uploads. As you develop in experience your role will become more challenging and varied. With more autonomy to take on tasks.

You'll benefit from support from the wider team, who have a proven record of developing graduates and apprentices with the chance to shadow qualified members of staff.

This role is hybrid, which means you will spend some time working from home and some time based at our Preston office. At Places for People, we prioritise our dedication to safer recruitment. Therefore, a basic DBS check is mandatory for this position.

More about you

This is the ideal role for someone wanting to take their first step into a career in Finance. You'll benefit from support from across Places for People including your team and the Early Careers Team.

No previous experience is required, as you'll receive the qualifications and training you need to succeed. You'll have an interest in numbers, an eye for detail and ideally will have had some exposure to Microsoft office tools, this could be within a school or college environment.

You'll be able to motivate yourself and take constructive feedback well. A clear commitment to learning and self improvement is essential to success in this role.
