Administration and Organisational Assistant (Level 1) Part Time

Pay Grade 3 - 11 hours a week (2 hours a day to cover the lunchtime period and an additional hour one day a week)

The Headteacher and Governors of St Mary's CE (AIDED) Primary School are seeking to appoint an office administration assistant to join our friendly staff team.

The post-holder will be required to provide an efficient and effective administration support service to the Headteacher and School Administrator.

It is essential that any new members of staff share our aims and values and are able to work effectively as part of a team and independently, using their own initiative.

We are looking to appoint a member of staff who:

Main Responsibilities:

  • To collect and accurately record all money for school trips, charity events etc and balance to appropriate lists.
  • Undertake basic bookkeeping of, for example, school fund, petty cash, school trips, postage, telephone calls and the balancing of such funds.
  • To undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone and face to face enquiries.
  • To undertake pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff in accordance with School Procedure.
  • To support the Headteacher to monitor the attendance of pupils.
  • Provide routine clerical support eg photocopying, filing, emailing, completing routine forms.
  • Undertake typing, word-processing and other IT based tasks including the production of letters, reports and schedules.
  • Collation of registers and the completion of various returns as required by the dfes and LEA.
  • Make arrangements for visits by the school nurse, photographer, linked schools and parents.
  • To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the Headteacher or School Administrator
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
  • Contribute to the school ethos, aims and the development/improvement plan.
  • Attend relevant meetings as required.
  • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
