Job Title: Business Support Administrator – Local Government Sector Contract type: Temporary 6-months+ (job assignments are often, extended by clients on a longer-term basis). Sector: Local Government Department : TBC Location: Lincoln Start Date: We are looking for candidates who can start work right away. Please indicate your notice period, if currently employed, in your CV. Hours Per Week: Full-time position Start Time: 8:30 AM /9:00 AM End Time: 16:30 PM/17:00 PM PAYE Rate: £11.79 ph To function effectively within a Business Support team, providing assistance with a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks, such as meeting support, data entry, general office support, and completing specific service tasks. These tasks may include:
- Providing administrative support in various service areas, including Adult Care and Community Wellbeing, Children’s Services, Environment and Economy, and Finance and Public Protection, and often working within locality teams that support multiple service areas.
- Supporting complaints and applications for services, such as the Blue Badge parking scheme.
- Compiling performance information.
- Performing data entry tasks.
- Arranging training and meetings and supporting their facilitation.
- Managing mail services.
- Assisting with compliance checks.
- Producing management information for customers.
- Providing typing, filing, photocopying, and telephone coverage.
- Performing reception duties.
Requirements
- Experience of MS Office: Word, Excel as a minimum
- Understanding of how to provide excellent customer Service
- Experience in dealing with the public either face to face, via telephone,written capacity
- Is thorough and pays attention to detail
- Demonstrating problem-solving capabilities
- Working on own initiative
- Ability to manage own time and workload

Work Experience Experience of providing administrative support to a large multi-disciplinary team. Experience of being part of a team providing a customer focussed service. Experience of using a computer for word processing and creating / maintaining databases to produce reports. Experience of document management and developing and administering support procedures. Experience of operating filing systems. Experience of specialist software systems including Archibus CAFM / CMIS and Permit to Work systems. Experience of the processes and terms used in the Supply chain and project management. Experience of Financial / Project admin. Experience of drafting letters / memos and minuting meetings. Education / Qualifications A range of GCSE’s including English Language and Maths (minimum grade C) or appropriate equivalent, or significant experiential learning. Degree qualification. Microsoft qualification or similar in use of spreadsheets / word processing. Skills / Abilities Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Experience of using a variety of IT packages including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Flexible in approach to work and ability to see tasks through to completion. Ability to deal with conflicting and challenging situations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
