Job Description :

We are seeking a compassionate, empathetic, energetic and enthusiastic individual with a passion for teaching children to swim, to join our team. Swim Buddies are offering to provide and fund the training and qualifications required to fulfil your ambitions to become a qualified Swimming Teaching in both Learn to Swim and SEND specialist environments. The training period is an unpaid programme of around 40 – 60 hours (usually 6 weeks depending on qualification dates). Once qualified, you will become part of our teaching team responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels in all environment including a SEND specialism school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to educate and inspire others while promoting water safety and confidence in the water whilst gaining new qualifications and a new career!

Duties:

– Attend in water training sessions as per training agreement to gain teaching skills (40 – 60 hours over a 6-8 week period)

– Attend qualification at designated location in North East England- Plan and deliver swimming lessons based on individual needs and abilities- Instruct students on proper swimming techniques, including strokes, breathing, and floating- Provide guidance and support to help students overcome challenges and improve their skills- Create a safe and positive learning environment for all participants- Monitor and ensure the safety of all swimmers during lessons- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student performance and goals

Qualifications:- GCSE’s 9 – 5/ A*- D or equivalent- Knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety practices- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively instruct and motivate other- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Desired skills:

– Ability to swim a minimum of 50m (2 lengths of a 25m pool) continuously

– Able to tread water for at least 1 meter in deep water

– Ability to surface dive to depths of at least 2m

– Willing to attend an voluntary training programme to gain the skills, knowledge and qualifications necessary to gain a role as a swimming teaching.
