Job Description :

We are seeking to appoint an ILS Residential Team Leader to support the residential facility and current management structure; across different shift patterns.

You will assist the Registered Manager and Care Manager in ensuring the College meets the essential standards of care as identified by the Care Quality Commission. Provide supervision and guidance to team members and be an excellent example of practice at all times.

Ensure that care plans, risk assessments and other documentation are reviewed regularly. Carry out quality audits of practice and the environment under the guidance of the Registered Manager and Care Manager.

Establish a constructive relationship with learners and their parents/carers.

To work flexibly across shift patterns as and when required, including days, evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the Residential learner population.

You will also be responsible for supporting students in the residential provision where you will enable students to achieve their independence targets, be responsible for monitoring and assessing students’ progress through effective target setting and ensuring that students are able to access the curriculum effectively.

You will be responsible for delivering all aspects of personal care to individual students, and take responsibility for the raising of student’s individual care plans and risk assessments.

To apply, you should possess an NVQ Level 2 in Care and a Level 2 qualification in safe handling of medication (or achieved within 6 months). You will have a level 2 qualification in numeracy and literacy. If you do not hold Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Maths and English, you will be required to undergo an assessment to determine you are operating at the required level.

You should have experience of working in a flexible and responsive team as well as experience of working in a care environment. You will need to be a team worker, with good communication skills. You should have good IT skills and the ability to prioritise workloads. It is important to have a positive, proactive, flexible approach to work and a strong commitment to student success.
