We are delighted to invite applications for a After School Club Supervisor for our School.
The After School Club Supervisor is an exciting role, which offers the opportunity to support the School’s ethos that every pupil feels safe and happy, and encouraging the development of their social skills.
The Care Club Supervisor responsibilities are:
- To support and monitor pupils from Nursery to Year 6, at play throughout the after-school session.
- To provide the pupils with appropriate support and encouragement in the development of their social skills.
- To plan and ensure safe and suitable activities are available including, crafts, games etc.
- To maintain good order and discipline amongst the pupils.
- To be aware of any medical, dietary, or special educational needs of the children in your care.
- To understand the importance of safeguarding and to follow school policy and procedures, including recording relevant information on CPOMs.
- To ensure the safe transfer of the children to their parent/carer including waiting with the child if parents are delayed.
- To have excellent communication skills and develop professional relationships with all children, parents, and staff.
- To observe confidentiality at all times.
- To supervise snacks and maintain cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
- To clear up areas used as part of the club and keep resources organised.
- To share the responsibility for pastoral care of the children and be aware of the Behaviour Management Policy.
- To participate in the staff development programme as directed by the Head, including Food Hygiene training and Safeguarding.
- To establish and maintain a positive regard towards pupils.
Standards and Quality Assurance
An After-School Club Supervisor’s responsibilities are:
- To support the aims and ethos of the school.
- To set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendance.
- To keep up to date with First Aid directives.
- To follow the Health and Safety policy and all other school policies as appropriate.
Key Skills
Essential:
- Educated to NVQ3 (Early Childhood Education or equivalent).
- Have knowledge and experience of working with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
- The necessary personal qualities to command the respect of colleagues, parents, and pupils.
- Computer literate.
- Able to support the Christian ethos of the school.
Desirable:
- Minimum Grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English
- Paediatric First Aid qualified – training given.
- Minimum or 2 years’ experience (current preferred).
- Being independent and able to work under pressure.
