Job Overview:We have an opening for you to join us as a Day Opportunities Support Worker at our Delrow community in Watford. If the following appeals, we’d love to hear from you:

Responsibilities:

  • Your first responsibility will be to support the people we support in drama.
  • You’ll also provide support to learn skills in Running a Café, Textile Weaving, Felt-making, Needlecraft, Social Farm, Pottery and Food Preparation skills.
  • You’ll help support the individuals and workshops, through effective planning, utilising, and developing existing skills, generation of creative ideas and being able to do so using a person- centred approach.
  • You’ll adapt a creative, flexible way of working with the promotion of inclusion and individuality, and to celebrate achievement using a person-centred approach.
  • You’ll be aware of your environment with due notice given to recycling, reduction of waste and ensuring equipment is both working safely and effectively.
  • You may be required to perform duties other than those given in this job description. The specific duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time.
  • Supporting within the guidance of Health and Safety, Manual Handling, Accident reporting and Fire regulations.
  • Attending mandatory training and be willing to attend supervision, team meetings, events, festivals and other community events.
  • Work alongside the extended community including C&S, office staff and management teams.
  • All areas require a creative, flexible way of working with the promotion of inclusion and individuality, and to celebrate achievement using a person-centred approach at all times.
  • Awareness of your environment with due notice given to recycling, reduction of waste and ensuring equipment is both working safely and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Good level of standard education.
  • Skills, knowledge and enthusiasm for all things Drama
  • Experience in supporting people with Learning Disabilities
  • Full Clean Driving License.
  • Able to understand and interpret relevant verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Good social and oral communication skills.
  • Able to motivate and organise self and others.
  • Flexible, with good problem-solving skills.

Note: All positions at our organization are paid positions, including internships.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £24,472.50 per year
