VVB Engineering is looking for Estimators with a technical background in either Electrical, Mechanical, or Telecommunications to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the delivery of accurate and timely estimates for Electrical, Mechanical, Telecoms, Instrumentation, and Control Systems projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Work Winning Team throughout the bid process, including producing pricing schedules, rates, and associated bid submission documentation
  • Conduct accurate take-offs from tender drawings and prepare detailed material schedules for pricing
  • Provide commercial analysis of quotations received from sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Prepare estimates from project specification documents, drawings, schedules, and historical data, and produce accurate material, labour, and sub-contract package allowances
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors to build relationships
  • Maintain accurate records of quotations and supporting documents for clear traceability
  • Carry out site visits and attend external meetings as required
  • Attend and conduct internal Bid Review Meetings with Company Directors
  • Present bids to clients and their representatives as needed

Experience / Qualities:

  • Sound knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Telecoms, Instrumentation, and Control Systems, including HV and LV systems, CCTV, CIS and PA systems, SCADA, BMS, HVAC systems, drainage, and pipework systems
  • Knowledge of estimating best practices and methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Experience with estimating software packages (e.g., Trimble, Countfire)
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a busy and demanding team
  • Experience working for a Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or Telecoms contractor
