We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Treasurer to join the Swanton Care team based in Coventry who will provide an efficient and effective customer focused service and administrative support within Swanton's operating region.

Job title: Group Treasurer (AAT Qualified)

Location: This role is based in our Head Office in Coventry. Occasional travel will be required to other business locations.

Rate of pay: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm (40 hours per week)

Job Purpose

Whilst fully embracing the company ETHOS, the Group Treasurer will be expected to work collaboratively with stakeholders and be responsible for all aspects of general cash management, bank reconciliation, payments and credit control. The role will support the Financial Controller in the management of planned weekly, monthly processes as well as taking a lead on unplanned required processes.

The role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overview of all bank mandates across the group.
  • Accurate and timely allocation of customer / other receivables and payables to the correct ledger codes.
  • Accurate and timely processing of refunds and credits.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork and/or entries are completed accurately, and information is well documented.
  • Maintain an accurate record of all activity in the bank to ensure that all documents are properly filed and easily retrievable for reference.
  • Process and review company expenses in line with company policies.
  • Run aged creditors weekly and make sure all invoices have been posted within their area.
  • Process Capex invoices and produce Capital Expenditure Reporting for the Group Accounts.
  • Monitor, execute / release payments via the banking platforms.
  • Ensure all payment instructions are signed off in accordance with the firms mandate and accurately process urgent CHAPS, cash transfers and other payment types.
  • Ensure all customer cheque receipts are banked in a timely manner.

About you

To be successful in the role of Group Treasurer it is essential that you have:

  • You are AAT Qualified (or suitable equivalent inc degree) and / or qualified by experience (QBE)
  • Also have a minimum of 3 years experience working within a financial role, post qualification.
  • Have experience working to deadlines.
  • Have experience prioritizing your own workload.
  • Have experience of working on multiple finance-based tasks.
  • Copes well under pressure
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and excited about a career within accounting.
  • Shows initiative and willingness to learn
  • Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and be confident liaising with other areas of the business.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Have experience of achieving objectives working collaboratively.
