Job Responsibility:

Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee An interesting a varied position within the Financial Delivery team working to support the Finance and Actuarial departments deliver results to pre-agreed timelines. This role is a perfect entry role to the company giving the successful applicant a wide exposure to many aspects of an operational role within Finance. Your new role
  • Support the creation and tracking of Finance, Actuarial and Solvency plans
  • Support the month end process by updating the pre-agreed plans
  • Manage the Quarterly FCM process (Group reporting tool) to ensure correct responsible people are updated and tasks are completed to agreed timelines.
  • Support the Co-ordination of monthly IT process & when required run the process (revals & translations)
  • Understand where escalations are required and channel appropriately in a timely manner
  • Identify & be confident in suggesting new approaches and ideas to benefit the department
  • Keep the Delivery Teams Channel up to date as required
  • Keep the Delivery Teams issue logs up to date as required
  • Manage the under/overs process quarterly
  • Support the co-ordination of the Finance & Actuarial audit for PwC, Mazars & EY
  • Support keeping the Delivery Teams masterplans up to date
  • Set up & attend meetings with Stakeholders & where necessary record the actions
  • Be an example to the rest of the FAL department as a person with unshakeable customer led mindset and encourage this thinking throughout Finance, Actuarial & Legal
About you
  • Communications skills - good communication skills both verbal and written are required for this role. Also the candidate should be able to demonstrate ability to change style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
  • Organised - Excellent organisational skills are required for this role
  • Confidence- Able to demonstrate confidence of working with Stakeholders across all levels of the Organisation as well as third parties (eg auditors)
  • Reactive- Ability to work under pressure and with a sense of urgency when required- this can be a demanding role
  • Flexibility- the role will demand hours outside the core hours in critical periods, we are also flexible when there is downtime. There is also a need to be able to prioritise actions & understand the criticality of the re-prioritisation
  • Motivated- whilst line management is very supportive with hybrid working there will be time when the successful applicant will be required to work independently at home , this requires a good level of self motivation. We expect the same quality of work from home as in the office
  • IT literate- Strong skills in Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook. Also understanding of Power BI & other analytical tools is useful. . Ideally able to interpret basic analytical data
Preferred experience: Whilst the below are desirable they are not a pre-requisite for this job & we will consider all applicants put forward by our HR partners if they have exceptional soft skills and can demonstrate the above competencies:
  • Part qualified accounting or actuarial, or equivalent body
  • Experience of motivating teams
  • Commercial awareness and negotiation skills, combined with experience of working with 3rd party strategic partners
