Sociology Graduate Teaching Assistant- 'Outstanding' Secondary School - Birmingham

£450 - £500 per week - September 2024 Start

Are you a Sociology graduate or soon to be graduating who is passionate and committed to making a difference in the lives of young people?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in an 'Outstanding Secondary School in central Birmingham who are seeking Sociology graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in their school and play a vital role in shaping the minds of their learners.

Starting September 2024, this term-time-only role has the potential to run for the full 2024/25 academic year and offers an excellent salary of £450 - £500 per week.

You will need:

  • Passion and enthusiasm to shape the next generation.
  • An interest in Further Education or SEN.
  • Degree - 2:2 or above. Any subject
  • Have high expectations of teaching and learning.
  • Ability to relate well to pupils and adults.
  • To have good communication skills
  • To be confident, self-assured and happy.
  • Be keen to develop as a professional

In this role, you'll provide practical learning support to their learners under the guidance of the class teachers and college SENCo.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • 1:1 and small group pupil support under the direct supervision of teaching staff.
  • Monitor the academic progress, wellbeing and attendance of learners.
  • Be the first point of contact for parents.
  • Support the personal and social growth of the learners by providing guidance, time management, and organisational assistance for their studies.
  • Help to create a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Ensuring all learners feel valued and included in the classroom.
