PERMANENT POSITION

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (1-hour lunch)

Holidays: 25 per year plus Bank Holidays (rising with length of service)

This is a great opportunity to join one of the largest barristers' chambers in the country, and to commence a career as a billing clerk. This is an entry-level role in our Accounts team, based in Manchester, with plenty of scope to learn, develop and progress.

This role will focus principally on supporting the Family Billing team, ensuring that our family barristers fees are billed to their clients who may be Local Authorities, the Legal Aid Agency, solicitors and sometimes private clients. This means learning about the different fee structures, requisite information and documentation to bill, knowing what can and cannot be billed and at what stage and having a meticulous approach to following standard operating procedures and protocols to avoid errors and delays.

You will receive full training from our highly experienced team and benefit from working in a large, diverse chambers with a large team of colleagues around you for support.

As well as being highly numerate, you'll need to be able to demonstrate professional, polite and friendly, written and spoken communication skills to liaise with colleagues, members and external clients and agencies. Also essential are the ability to follow processes carefully and with particular attention to detail, confidence with IT, a willingness to learn and to work together with colleagues to deliver an excellent overall service.

Ideally you will have proven experience of working in an office environment, including experience of administration, the use of office ICT and equipment and a flexible and team-oriented approach.
