What does a X do at Hillingdon?
Learn Hillingdon have an exciting opportunity and is currently recruiting a Student Services Officer to support its busy operation at Centres across the borough. This highly regarded service runs over 800 courses for residents during the academic year, making ever increasing use of systems and technology in line with Ofsted guidance.
As the Student Services Officer you will be responsible for providing accurate and specific information and advice about learning opportunities to new and existing learners, use in-depth knowledge to clarify enrolment and eligibility criteria, support curriculum staff ensuring communication between teams across the service and externally. Support the team with the training of new team members promoting best practice and providing guidance where necessary.
Working as part of the Student Services Team, these post-holders will work at every Adult Learning centre throughout the year, including outreach centres, travelling between centres as necessary.
This is a challenging, demanding but rewarding job, working in a friendly and supportive team within a dynamic service.
About you
You will have a good all round standard of education including proven skills in written English. If you have excellent business administration skills, good communication skills and are quick to learn new systems, this could be the job for you. We are looking for a person who has high standards and is able to work quickly, accurately and independently with multiple priorities.
- Educated to GCSE level(or equivalent) including maths and English
- Experience of dealing with the public, face to face and over the telephone and providing information in a sensitive manner
- Experience of working on computer based record systems.
- Able to prioritise work, meet deadlines, act on own initiative and work under pressure.
- Able to quickly learn and operate new ICT systems
- Have knowledge of GLA and ESFA Funding Agency rules and requirements
