Our specialist OCD service is recruiting for a Therapy Assistant. We are seeking a compassionate, assertive and proactive individual who has a reasonable understanding cognitive behavioural therapy and common mental health disorders. This is a unique opportunity to work in one of five national specialist Level 5 & 6 OCD/BDD services in the UK. Those seeking to progress their career within the mental health field will benefit from experience working with patients, developing therapeutic relationships and experiencing therapy in practice. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of mental health nurses, consultant psychiatrists, ward doctors, CBT therapists, therapy assistants and occupational therapists, and will be supported by the OCD Lead Therapist. This pivotal role entails: 1. Working alongside our CBT psychotherapists to support inpatients accessing the intensive CBT group programme. 2. Offering encouragement and motivation to engage patients in exposure therapy. 3. Contributing and updating weekly care plans, working closely with other members of the team, to ensure that the interventions are delivered effectively. 4. Administering outcome and assessment questionnaire tools, under supervision. 5. Supporting with administrative tasks to ensure the day to day functioning of the programme. 6. Co-facilitating therapy groups and independently leading low-intensity and/or activity-based groups. An undergraduate degree in a psychology or related discipline would be highly beneficial. Previous experience of working in a mental health setting, preferably within an inpatient unit, is also desirable. Priory Healthcare is the UK's leading provider of private mental health care.
