Job Title: Assessor/Trainer/Job Coach

Department: Childcare

Based at: Wolverley House but with travel to local settings.

Reports to: Academic Director

Hours of work: Various

Salary / Benefits: p/a (dependant on experience and qualifications)

Job Purpose: Work Place Learning, other government funded programmes and non- funded programmes, both on and off the job.

Specific Duties apprentices' individual learning plans and evidence portfolios.

  • Design, develop and deliver an individual programme of training and assessment to ensure successful completion of the apprentice's individual learning plan within the planned duration.
  • Support delivery of apprenticeships through a range of methods (e.g. face-to-face, skype, webinars).
  • Carry out regular teaching, assessment visits and monitoring for each apprentice. During the visit, plan, assess, set and monitor appropriate targets, identify and address areas of weakness to ensure learner achievement.
  • Observe and review work produced by learners, and provide constructive and informative feedback.
  • Monitor progress through an effective programme of tutorial support designed to supplement formal on and off-the-job training and assessment.
  • Assess apprentices' vocational competence and theoretical knowledge in both a realistic working environment and their place of work against the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship standard.
  • Deliver English, and Mathematics Functional Skills to apprentices.
  • Maintain candidate records and assessment documentation for verification and audit purposes.
  • Participate in the standardisation process to ensure that internal and external verification procedures are met to awarding body standards.
  • Maintain effective and up-to-date tracking systems to ensureapprentice's progress is openly monitored and any obstacles to achievement are effectively and promptly dealt with.
  • Rigorous monitoring and reviewing outcomes to ensure timely, successful completion across apprenticeship provision.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum portfolio.

General Duties:

  • Actively promote and market the Company and present a positive image of the Company and its activities both within and outside the Company environment.
  • Ensure the quality standards and performance measures applying to the work of the section are met and facilitate continuous improvements in all aspects of the post.
  • Undergo any self-development and training as necessary for success in the role.
  • Carry out any duties at all times in accordance with the

  • Incorporate into the role the philosophy, values and behaviour stated in the Company Mission and Strategic Plans.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of current Apprenticeship Standards
  • Successful experience of working with employers
  • Knowledge and experience of monitoring student achievement and attendance
  • Experience of planning training programmes to meet individual need
  • Experience of teaching and delivering theory to apprentices
  • Up-to-date, broad-based knowledge of the subject area with the ability to teach one or more specialism
  • Experience of assessment in the relevant industry sector

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to express ideas succinctly and clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to communicate with a range of learners, staff and employers
  • Able to demonstrate a clear commitment to high standards and the ability to drive continuous improvement
  • Able to identify learner needs and be adaptive to their requirements
  • Able to identify and help learners to overcome potential barriers to progress and achieve
  • Occupational experience in procurement industry
  • Ability to travel across venues and campuses independently
  • High Education Qualification in relevant sector, or significant industry experience in areas to be assessed
  • Have a willingness to gain AET, Coaching and Mentoring Level 3 to Level 5, Safeguarding Level 1 and CAVA Assessor Award after commencing employment
  • Have experience of delivering training to external certification standards leading to accreditation from professional institutes such as the CMI and ILM along with business administration skills and knowledge at Level 4
  • Be certified or experienced in the deployment of psychometric tests, personality diagnostics and/or profiling tools such as MBTI, SDI, PRISM, Hogan etc.

OTHER DESIRABLE QUALITIES:

  • CAVA / A1 assessor award
  • Level 3 Teacher Qualification/PTLLS
  • Ability to react flexibly under pressure and to work to tight deadlines
