An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Research Assistant (RA) in IoT Wireless Sensor Network with relevant research skills and experience to work under the supervision of Dr Edmond Nurellari, Associate Professor/ Programme Leader in Electronic Engineering.
You will primarily work on the design and development of a low-power smart sensor system for cold storage food warehouses. You will report directly to Dr Edmond Nurellari in the School of Engineering and will work closely with other project team members and the other collaborators involved in the research project.
You will have the opportunity to undertake internationally leading research in the field of low-power design and wireless communications hardware with researchers from UK who are engaged in the fields of Electronic Engineering, Machine Learning, Food Science, and Agri-Tech. You will simulate, design, assemble and test wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and perform data analysis using machine-learning algorithms. As part of this role, you will need to be available to travel within UK.
You may also be required to provide embedded systems design support for other research in the School of Engineering in robotics, wireless communications and high frequency sensing systems.
You will have experience in modelling and designing wireless sensor networks and PCB assembly, and of programming in C/C++ or embedded platforms or related design tools. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work well with members of the wider project teams and School of Engineering staff.
You will be qualified to a Masters or Honours Degree level in the area of Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering, Robotics, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics or related fields.
