Job Responsibility:
Location: Hybrid working, Head Office based in Thame, Oxfordshire, you will be expected to come to this office around once a week ideally
Hours: Full time hours, (37.5) flexible Monday - Friday
Salary: Up to £38k DOE + our competitive benefits package (details below)
Role overview:
We're looking for a mid-weight UX Designer who is keen to develop their skills and become an integral part of a small & busy UX team. Your day to day will be varied and range from working on design systems with a developer, wire framing in Figma, white boarding or organising research sessions amongst other tasks.
We don't expect you to have a detailed knowledge of the property purchasing/selling process but just a willingness to learn and get stuck in. As the immediate team is small it is important that you have good communication skills and are able to work well with people in all areas and levels of the business.
This role is perfect for a those that like to get hands on with design thinking, ideating, testing ideas and challenging (in a constructive way) processes. It is a great role for those who are self motivated and are looking to move up from a junior position or take on a new challenge.
Main responsibilities:
- Assist in user research and usability testing
- Create wireframes, user flows and clickable prototypes
- Contribute to the UI and visual design
- Collaborate with products managers and wider stakeholders
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews
- Stay updated on UX trends and best practices
- Help develop and manage our design systems
- Support the wider product teams needs
- Working with the development team to support the build & testing phase
- Happy working at pace and pitching in wherever help is needed
- Curiosity, adaptability and an eagerness to learn quickly
Skills/Experience required:
- 2-4 years of experience in UX/UI design (Focus on UX)
- Strong understanding of the design thinking process and implementation
- Understanding of responsive design principles
- Excellent knowledge of design tools (Ideally Figma)
- Proficiency in creating clickable prototypes
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understand the design thinking process
- UX focused portfolio demonstrating your input, process and skills.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback
- A strong understanding of different types of user testing
- Able to travel to Thame office
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with usability testing tools
- Basic knowledge of agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with accessibility standards
- Interest or experience in using AI and it's practical uses within UX design.
- Understand HTML and CSS basics
- Experience of working with developers
- Experience in UX writing
