Job Responsibility:
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic eLearning Team, playing a key role in increasing the use of eLearning in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
As a eLearning Support Officer, you will be part of an established eLearning team that works under the direction of the eLearning Manager to deliver a service that supports academic and administrative staff across the departments of FSE to meet the Faculty's strategic priorities for teaching and learning.
You will report to the eLearning Manager, or delegate and work collaboratively across the team and with colleagues from related services to provide advice and support for the use of digital tools used to support teaching and learning.
You will work in partnership with academic and administrative staff in the development, delivery and support of all aspects digital learning.
You will have a degree or equivalent professional experience, and significant experience of using a virtual learning environment for the development and delivery of eLearning materials, including knowledge of learning design.
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with experience of a range of software applications (e.g. virtual learning environments; screen casts; media rich interactive applications; video conferencing; online assessment; web-based technologies).
You will be able to scope and successfully manage complex projects that require coordination of multiple factors and relationships, e.g. multiple project team members, or projects with diverse stakeholders.
In addition to having strong technical skills, you will be willing to make presentations to disseminate good practice, and engage colleagues in discussion about how eLearning can make a positive contribution to their teaching and the student experience.
The post will be mainly based in the Engineering Building, although it will involve visiting the departments within the Faculty, which are located in a number of different buildings across the University campus.
