Job Responsibility:

Job Purpose:

To provide support to the Claims Team in the management and administration of Ascot's claims.

Detailed Duties:

  • Review the daily Syndicate Claims Message and compile a claims report for the weekly Underwriting Management Committee meeting.
  • Assist in the preparation of Class of Business claims reports for use in regular meetings with each underwriting team.
  • Assist with preparing significant claim reports to advise Senior Management of developments with major losses.
  • Provide support to the claims team in the diary management of complex claims, including loading documents on the Insurers Market Repository and liaising with brokers, experts, DXC and other subscribing insurers.
  • Respond to enquiries about claims arising from Ascot's International Offices.
  • Assist the claims team in raising Singapore settlement requests in respect of Complex Claims and in setting up manual claim entries.
  • Support on major losses (including attending claims meetings) and liaising with Velonetic and the following Lloyd's underwriters.
  • Liaise with the Outwards Reinsurance team to provide loss information to reinsurers and respond to queries regarding event coding.
  • Assist with ad hoc claims projects to improve Ascot's claims management.
  • Support in catastrophe management by preparing reports, maintaining live spreadsheets, and investigating exposure on accounts deemed to be impacted.
  • Arrange regular expert panel reviews, ensure that expert contact details are current, and that panel experts have signed Ascot's Terms of Engagement.
  • Provide assistance to the claims team in the preparation and analysis of Management Information (MI).
  • Assist the Chief Claims Officer and Director of Syndicate Claims Operations in monitoring the performance of the claims management outsource service provider.
  • Produce samples of claims for both Complex and Standard monthly file reviews.
  • Provide services in relation to delegated authorities' (DA) processes including:
    • Scheduling of Delegated Claims Administrators (DCAs) and Coverholder meetings providing agendas, distributing meeting minutes and centrally recording actions arising from each meeting.
    • Maintain the DCA and Coverholder panel and contacts lists; ensuring new DCAs and Coverholders are added on a timely basis.
    • Tracking of DCA & Coverholder monthly MI submissions. Reporting to the Delegated Underwriting Claims Manager (DUCM) where submissions have not been received.
    • Population of DCA & Coverholder assessment documents following receipt of monthly MI submissions.
    • Loss fund management actions, including the setting up of Vitesse accounts.
    • Drafting and maintenance of DA process documents.
    • Assist the DUCM in monitoring and recording the performance of delegated claims handlers.
  • Organise the annual Away Day and Claims Team socials.
  • Undertake any further task as required, to support the management of Ascot's claims function.
