Role Overview

This is an opportunity for students passionate about RF, Electronics, Manufacturing and logistics to work on-site at our head office and modern manufacturing facility outside Hereford.

Working with our skilled professionals in the Manufacturing department, you will have the opportunity to work in our SMT, Assembly, Test, and Stores. With multiple opportunities available, we are confident that we will have something suitable for all professionals looking for a career in Electronics Manufacturing.

We have four opportunities available to work in the following areas of Manufacturing:

SMT Department

As part of ETL’s Surface Mount Technology (SMT) department, you will gain understanding and hands-on experience with the process of mounting surface mount components (SMDs) directly onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) without the need for drilling holes. The machinery you will be trained to use is some of the best in the UK!

Assembly Department

Working as part of our highly skilled assembly team, you will gain the experience needed to produce ETL’s wide range of products. This will include reading schematics and following complex and detailed build instructions throughout Electromechanical Assembly.

Test Department

ETL has a professional team of Test Engineers to ensure our customers receive the best products. By working alongside the test team, you will gain valuable experience in testing a wide range of ETL’s products. No matter what your current understanding and skill level is in Electronics, we guarantee you will have the opportunity to learn new skills in testing.

Stores & Logistics department

ETL’s Stores & Logistics department are crucial to the success of all Manufacturing departments at ETL. Kitting out orders to ensure Production supplies the components required to build the products is key to maintaining high-performance levels within Production.

Additional responsibilities within the department include Inventory management and traceability management. Using and updating industry-specific software packages allows the business to maintain costs, control stock levels, and provide information to ensure products are delivered to customers without delay.

You might already be at University or College and looking for a summer opportunity that will complement your future career ambitions in Electronics Manufacturing.

Key Accountabilities:

Depending on the role you secure within Manufacturing you will place an active role in the production and delivery of ETL’s expensive portfolio of products this summer.

• Support the Production Team to ensure that the highest quality standards are always achieved
• Support on-site operational layout changes to improve efficiencies.
• Ensure that you follow the on-site health and safety guidelines.

Location

This role requires you to work on-site at our modern manufacturing facility outside Hereford. Before applying, please make sure you can commute to Coldwell Radio Station, Madley, Herefordshire, HR2 9NE.
