Job Description :

We are seeking a parts sales assistant / apprentice to join our team at Edwards Machinery. This is a new role created as we grow and will be based at our depot, located at Village Farm Industrial Estate, Pyle near Bridgend.

What we do – We sell new and used farm machinery, trailers and tractors and have a fully equipped workshop to repair, fabricate and maintain all types of agricultural machinery and equipment. We also have a well-stocked shop, supplying customers with a wide range of machine parts and consumables.

What the role will entail – Serving customers face to face in our shop, over the telephone, or increasingly through online and email orders. Researching and finding parts availability and pricing. Assisting the Parts Manager with ordering and unpacking of parts, stocktaking, shop layout and online sales listing.

Develop your skills – As we are a small team there will be opportunities to get involved in other work activities. These may include your assistance at trade shows and open days, developing new sales channels, broadening our range of products and creating marketing campaigns for the business.

We use SAGE management systems for our stock control and sales processes.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and attributes.

· Customer service confidence with a good telephone manner

· Computer literate

· Some experience in on-line marketing would be an advantage

· Results driven attitude – solutions not problems

· Well organised with a keen eye for detail

· Ability to work well in a team

· Full driving license

The position is initially for 30 hours per week, but we can be flexible on hours/days worked to accommodate the needs of the business and the right candidate.

Having knowledge of farm machinery and parts would be an advantage but is not critical as training can be provided. We have peak times through the year when it can be very busy and will require multitasking and working quickly under pressure.
