Job Title: Music and Events Technical Assistant

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Saturday depending uponrequirements, possible Sunday’s with prior notice.

All year round

Salary: Band A Point 17 £22,338 pro rata, FTE

Responsible to: Lead Events & Music Technician

Main Purpose of Job:

Supporting the Lead Music and Events Technician in the organisation and fulfillment of technical requirements for the Music and Events Department.

  • Fulfilling technical requirements of events briefs (including operation of live sound, recording, AV, lighting, staging equipment etc), often with little supervision or assistance, as directed by the Lead Music and Events Technician
  • Responsible for suitable recording and archiving of the Lunchtime Concert Series
  • Ensure that concerts are recorded, both audio and video, as necessary, and up-to-date online database maintained
  • Supervise and provide guidance for the use of audiovisual equipment by staff and pupils and ensuring specialist equipment is maintained
  • Supervise and assist during professional studio and live recording sessions
  • Assist with the installation of technical production equipment for events, including additional equipment from external clients as appropriate
  • Recording and producing audio and video for staff and pupils (eg, auditions, scholarships, portfolios etc)
  • Production of audiovisual media for Creative Arts productions and some marketing use as directed by the Lead Music and Events Technician
  • Providing technical support and supervision to pupils and staff for the delivery of the technical aspects of the GCSE and A-level Music and Music Technology courses
  • Maintain the proper systems for secure storage, use and loan of studio equipment and ordering/resale/recharging of consumable media
  • Supplying pupils and staff with media from the concert database
  • Support and advise Technical Assistant as appropriate
