Job Description :
A vacancy has arisen for a full-time, Finance Assistant to join the Finance Team in the ASDA distribution centre, Larne.
Reporting to the Finance Manager the successful applicant will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, including Bank Holidays.
The Role:
- Collation of information to prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports of distribution centre performance
- Preparation of all customer sales invoices
- Receipt, filing and scanning of supplier invoices for various contractors
- Use of in house purchasing systems for ordering supplies and consumables
- Liaising with other purchasing departments within the Asda network to order Asda supplies
- Controlling stock of consumables and stationery for all departments
- Resolution of supplier invoice queries on Oracle
- Booking management travel arrangements in line with company guidelines
- Analysis and auditing of weekly payroll and monthly salary charges
- Analysis of monthly accounts in line with budgets
- Preparation of monthly balance sheets for all contracts
- Controlling the diesel account and costs
- Assisting in preparation of month end accounts for the customer (Asda) and the company (Wincanton),
- Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets
- Attendance at any relevant departmental meetings
- Supporting the team and providing cover when required
To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the Finance department
The Person:
- Candidate must have a business/finance background, either gained through experience or formal qualification
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL is essential, with a proficiency in Microsoft Office desirable
- Must be flexible in hours worked if/when the demands of the business require
- Attention to detail, a focus on accuracy and an analytical eye on all reporting is required
- A high degree of confidentiality is essential in this role
- The ability to work independently and using own initiative is key
- Good interpersonal skills. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Hybrid working is supported in this role once relevant training has been completed
