We are seeking a dedicated IT Helpdesk Support Technician to join our team. As the first point of contact for users and staff seeking IT assistance, you will play a crucial role in delivering a professional and efficient service. This role is for 12 weeks paying from £15.60 p/hr + Holiday Pay.
Duties:
- Serve as the initial contact for IT support, conveying technical information effectively in both written and spoken English.
- Respond promptly and accurately to IT queries in person, by phone, or email.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot IT issues, referring complex problems to appropriate colleagues when necessary.
- Follow up on outstanding queries to ensure timely resolution.
- Prioritise multiple incidents in accordance with departmental priorities to achieve high customer satisfaction.
- Record details of all calls in the IT incident handling system, aiding the development of a knowledge base.
- Assist users with computer setup, software, accounts, and shared resources.
- Develop user documentation for common issues.
- Support desktop computing, data recovery from backup, and AV equipment.
- Undertake independent or collaborative project work to improve IT services.
- Adhere to GDPR principles and University policies related to data protection and computer use.
Selection Criteria:
- Significant experience with Windows desktop environments, including domain management.
- Proven frontline IT support experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with a diverse range of individuals.
