Location: Southampton Central Police Station

Salary: Scale 5, £27789,00 - £29874,00 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Job Purpose

Are you looking for a new interesting challenge?

The successful candidate will manage and support CSI offices including sending and receiving exhibits for examination adhering to ISO procedures.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Working within CSI offices supporting the SSD Operational staff and wider Constabulary in relation to SSD Activities, attendances and investigations.

2. Act as a point of contact for officers, SSD Staff and external agencies for queries relating to CSI and SSD activity.

3. Ensure that submissions to the external FSPs are completed as per MG21s and by adhering to ISO procedures, local policies/legislation, researching where necessary to ensure evidential integrity and to confirm records (paper and electronic) are up dated and maintained correctly.

4. Manage CSI submissions, Property Exhibits and returned items to ensure records are accurate, correct and complete any issue resolution, this is to include safe custody of firearms, drugs and money. Adhering to Quality Management systems in regards to non-conforming work or actions.

5. Record Management, system updates and destruction in regards to DNA Elimination samples. Research as to whether they require destruction or retention as per PoFA and CPIA.

6. Undertake work relating to ISO accreditation - including audits, record management, document control, non-conformance report/investigating and procedural review.

7. Assisting facilities management of the local site to include equipment daily logging and point of contact for facilities issues raised to the central team.

Essential Qualifications

Educated to QCF Level 2 (3-5 passess including English and Mathematics) OR work experience deemed to have brought the post-holder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

Proven experience in a busy office environment, routinely undertaking a diverse range of support/administrative duties.

Must be capable of working without direct supervision, have excellent organisational skills, and be able to manage and prioritise demanding workloads.

Use and familiarity with computerised packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Ability to work with minimal day to day supervision and able to prioritise competing demands.
