What you'll do
This role is an integral part of the central M&S.com operations team. As a team our focus is on ensuring that the end-to-end digital experience for our customers is as seamless and trouble-free as possible. This is across all touchpoints for the website, including: logistics, contact centre, development, trading, marketing, and IT.
The role gives excellent opportunity for real ownership and delivery - as well as regular contact and exposure to stakeholders at all levels. The role will require you to work closely with our fulfilment and logistics teams ensuring that we are operating as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.
- Optimise operational costs in all aspects of the operation to improve efficiency: You will need a laser focus on optimising how we fulfil order across a complex operation. Ensuring that that we push volume through our most cost effective routes without compromising on speed of deliver to customers or the volume that we fail
- Own and deliver metric reporting and in-depth analysis which supports your area: Work with our analytics and insights team to develop dashboards and key metrics that support your area. You will need the ability to use these insights to drive your strategies forward and get buy-in from key stakeholders across the business
- Operational governance: You will need to operate in a way that holds the entire operations team to account. We have many moving parts and your role will be to ensure that decisions being made are not at the detriment to the key metrics you are responsible for.
- Build and maintain a successful relationship with our supply chain & logistics team to ensure the cost and efficiency is at the core of business decision making: Leveraging the relationship, not only to protect our core metrics, but also to find ways of continuing to make the operation as efficient and cost effective as possible.
Who you are
- Proven experience with large operational data sets and a key part of the role will be to leverage this data to spot trends and opportunities to reduce operational cost and leverage our fulfilment capability more efficiently.
- Proven experience working in a eCommerce retail environment
- Ability to manage a wide number of stakeholders across different levels
- Strong sense of self management and highly self-motivated, calm under pressure and able to prioritise.
- Analytical and data driven mindset, able to understand data problems and present back findings and next steps.
- Systems Knowledge: Order Management (ideally Sterling), Website monitoring tools (content square, Adobe Omniture)
