Yoto's Account Management Team

The Account Management team handles the engineering details for all payments and post-purchase needs for Yoto customers, Yoto Club members, and B2B partner accounts. The Account Management team's remit covers everything around purchases, deliveries, partner reporting, and subscription management. This team's long term roadmap has, among other things, a focus on cost effective scaling of our ecommerce and subscription platforms, more streamlined on-the-go-purchasing, and automating order/delivery based customer support queries.

This is a new team so as you can guess there's a lot of space to innovate! We're starting out with a small team of 3 engineers with ambitions to grow the team over time. The team will work closely with our existing Core Web team, together ensuring all the front-end components are accessible, performant, and scalable. This role will report into the Account Management Team's Tech Lead Manager.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the design and development for frontend aspects for our Account Management team, identifying and driving innovation when necessary.

  • Make significant code contributions to our system through their design and implementation.

  • Serve as a technical authority and mentor for engineers within the team and the community of practice, providing guidance on best practices for software design, delivery, and scalability.

  • Ensure code contributions are of high quality, performance, and adhere to coding standards.

  • Help bring together frontend engineers across the company to increase knowledge sharing, reduce complexity, and improve collaboration and connected thinking.

  • Work closely with senior leadership in technology, product, and throughout the entire business to provide transparency in ongoing and future work with a continual eye on where we need to be in the long term.

What you'll need to bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in designing and building commercial web applications (with at least 1 year at a “senior+” level).

  • Passion about intuitive web and ecommerce UI/UX and pride in the front end of the front end.

  • Past experience working in a high throughput ecommerce environment (Shopify, BigCommerce, etc), preferably direct-to-customer.

  • Proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, web fundamentals, an appreciation for the core craft of HTML, Javascript, CSS, A11Y, P13N, and best practices for the modern web works.

  • Proficiency with JAMStack and MACH architectures; Headless CMS, Pattern Library, Front End Frameworks, Testing Libraries, etc.

  • Proficiency with web performance tracking and improvement (LCP, CLS, etc) and a strong security mindset (OWASP Top 10, etc); highly adept at tackling problems with both in mind

  • Strong organisational skills and energy for sprint management, planning and preparing tasks.

  • Competent communicator, help and be helped, can discuss solutions with both a technical and non-technical audience.

  • An ability to understand and contribute towards software architecture and consider design decisions; you know what good looks like when it comes to building great software products.

  • Open-minded and a natural cross functional collaborator (design, dev, QA, backend, etc). Ready to share your thoughts on the web development ecosystem.
