Location: St PancrasHours: Full time, fixed term Grade: CSalary £27,300 The position of Senior Imaging Support Technician is essential for the operational success of the Imaging Studio at the British Library/Qatar Foundation Partnership. This role demands a skilled imaging operator primarily engaged in medium format camera work, tasked with producing and post-processing digital images to high standards of productivity and quality. The technician ensures that studio outputs align with industry best practices and meet the technical standards of the British Library/Qatar Foundation Partnership. In addition to capturing high-quality digital images from a wide variety of collection items, the role supports the imaging team by performing other tasks such as importing metadata, conducting quality assurance checks, and managing optical character recognition (OCR) processes. The position requires profound knowledge of medium format cameras and digital imaging software, with proficiency in handling various collection items under different conditions. A strong background in photography and digitisation projects, is essential to achieve the best results. Experience in image quality assessment according to international standards and guidelines (e.g., ISO 19264, FADGI, Metamorfoze) is necessary. The role also requires active participation in team meetings to manage tasks and drive studio enhancements in a high productivity environment.
