**Care Assistant Job Description**

**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a compassionate Social Care Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional care to our individuals. The Social Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with activities of daily living, including at times, personal care, meal preparation support, medication, and ensuring the holistic well-being of our individuals. There are also roles available to support adults to access their local community and participate in a variety of social activities and groups.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others and a strong desire to have a positive impact on the lives of those we support.

Certain roles can include waken night support or sleepovers.

Shift patterns are varied and flexible to suit a good work-life balance.

**Duties:**

- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming

- Assist in meal preparation and/or feeding as needed

- Provide emotional support and friendship to individuals

- Maintain a clean and safe environment

- Supporting individuals' skill maintenance and development

- Follow care plans and communicate any changes in the individuals' condition, needs or wishes to the appropriate staff members

- Utilise basic IT skills for documentation purposes

**Experience:**

- Prior experience in a care or supportive role is preferred but not required as mentoring and training will be provided.

- Ability to drive is a desire, but not required

- An outgoing personality and desire to ensure our individuals can experience various activities in our local and wider community

**Requirements:**

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team or lone working environment

- Compassionate and empathetic nature

- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary

- Self-satisfaction in pride in yourself and your role
