The Council wishes to offer a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual the opportunity to join its Regeneration and Place team in the post of Leisure Contract Manager. At what is a hugely exciting time to be working for Newport City Council, you can play a key role in the shaping the provision of sport, leisure and wellbeing services across the city.

As Leisure Contract Manager, you will take a lead role in managing the Council's contract for delivery of these services, in partnership with Newport's independent leisure and arts trust, Newport Live. With a strong commitment to continuous improvement and driving transformation, you should have a high level of experience in sport and leisure administration and contracts. An understanding of the market for services local to the city, and how best practice from around the UK and beyond may be implemented is essential.

A proven track record of managing public sector funding to deliver service improvement, projects and initiatives is also essential. An excellent communicator and negotiator, you should, be able to work both on your own and as part of a team, and have a meticulous approach to contracts and detail.

The post is offered on a permanent basis but is willing to accept applications from outstanding candidates who wish to apply as a secondment.
