Job Responsibility:

Supervises the financial administration of the unit's Client Fund Account, site shops, petty cash float and safety deposit facility through the effective and efficient application of local procedures and processes, which comply with Corporate policy and statutory regulations. Responsibilities: Liaises with Clinical department to support patients, their families and carers to identify financial needs and entitlements, providing assistance and information to enable patients to claim statutory benefits and to access personal banking facilities. Initiates and progresses applications for welfare benefits on behalf of patients, working as the patients advocate and the unit's appointed representative in all dealings with the DSS, NHS and other official bodies or agencies where financial benefits, payments and exemptions are involved. Ensures that all associated documentation is correctly maintained and filed in compliance with the company's financial procedures and the statutory requirements of the Healthcare Commission and Mental Health Act Commissioners. Co-ordinates and supervises the safe and secure storage of patients possessions and/or valuables ensuring items are received, recorded, stored and released in accordance with Healthcare policy. Undertakes the financial accounting and reporting processes required for the effective and efficient operation of the sites shop (where present), including reconciliation and banking. Managing Petty Cash ensuring all internal and external transactions are processed and recorded in accordance with Healthcare policy, financial procedures and statutory regulations. Manages the deposit of cash, cheque and other receipts and the withdrawal of funds required to sustain a substantial petty cash and retail floats.
