Job Responsibility:
Overview
It's a great time to join Screwfix. Thanks to the hard work of our team and record-breaking sales, we're proud to be one of the fastest-growing retailers in the UK. And we want to pass that growth onto you.
With record-breaking sales and an ambitious growth plan in place, there has never been a more exciting time to join one of the fastest-growing retailers in the UK.
As Category Supply Manager, you'll be responsible for managing your category across a multi-channel retail operation consisting of household brands and our own. You'll lead a small team of Supply Chain Planners responsible for inbound purchase planning and store replenishment levels ensuring we meet our KPIs and allowing you to focus more strategically on broader developments.
Working closely and as part of a wider matrix team, you'll use your commercial judgement and analytical skills to forecast and prepare category stock plans, including seasonal and future promotional events that drive 30% of sales. You'll be mindful of environmental factors that could influence supply & demand and be creative around problem-solving, keeping stock exit to a minimum.
Reporting directly to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, you'll have regular exposure to the senior leadership team, where you'll present your monthly category position.
We believe that a hybrid, flexible working approach offers you - and your colleagues - the best of both worlds. Face-to-face collaboration is an integral part of our warm, friendly culture, so you'll work from our head office three days a week, working flexibly around our core working hours of 10am-3pm. Beyond that, how, when and where you work is up to you. With a subsidised canteen, free parking and a comfortable, relaxed environment, we've worked hard to build an office you'll want to work in. We also know that, when it comes to school pick-ups and home deliveries, it's nice to have the flexibility to do both.

- Accountable for maintaining category availability across a multi-channel retail operation
- Line management for a team of DC, TC and ORE Planners taking responsibility for setting objectives, managing performance, supporting development and ensuring a consistent approach

- Forecast the physical requirement of stock based on the sales forecast including any promotional or seasonal purchases and store requirements
- Manage the promotional lifecycle of ranges ensuring stocks of existing / previous promotions are cleared before enabling the market team to make commitments for new purchases
- Work with the market and store operation teams to propose and drive efficiencies in ranging to improve customer service
- Own category stock health, reviewing and optimising budgets, minimising stock provision and increasing stock turn
- Building relationships internally with key stakeholders and externally with suppliers, you will be expected to maintain strong, collaborative relationships, and influence this network to deliver success
Required skills & experience
- Previous experience of team management and coaching/developing.
- Previous experience in developing commercial plans and managing stock exit.
- Managing stock turn and implementing inventory strategies.
- Experienced in forecasting for promotions and product life cycle management
