Job Responsibility:

Purpose of the position

The Packing and Continuous Improvement (CI) Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the packing planning and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong understanding of packing processes and a passion for optimizing workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities:

Production Planning:

  • Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain packing schedules to meet customer demands (OTIF) and inventory targets. Ensuring that schedules are realistic and achievable.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with all relevant departments to ensure that resources (materials, labour, equipment) are allocated effectively to meet packing goals.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and minimize costs.
  • Capacity Planning: Assess production capacity and identify any constraints. Develop plans to address capacity issues and ensure that production targets are met.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize production data to track performance against schedules, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Continuous Improvement (CI):

  • Process Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of current production and planning processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • CI Methodologies: Apply Lean, Six Sigma or other CI methods to develop and implement process improvements. Utilize tools such as value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and 5S to enhance operations.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage CI projects from initiation to completion. Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Collaborate with other departments and lean teams to ensure successful implementation across the site.
  • KPI Tracking: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of planning and CI initiatives. Regularly report on these metrics to management.
  • Employee Engagement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee involvement and feedback while tracking and reporting on the progress of projects and their impact on operational performance.
  • Technology Integration: Identify and recommend technological solutions to enhance planning efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with IT and other relevant departments to implement new systems and tools.

Essential Skills and Experience

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

· Excellent organisation and time management with ability to manage multiple projects at once.

· Personable and able to work well in a team.

· Strong focus on customer service and delivering positive outcomes.

· Previous experience in an administrative role

· Driven and self-motivated.

Desirable skills and experience:

· Experience with CI methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) and project management.

· Experience in a packing or warehouse environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or CI role.

· Existing planning and CI experience, or a strong Administrator with an interest in developing their knowledge.

· GCSE English and Maths

Pay: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
