Job Responsibility:
we are looking to give a school leaver the opportunity to progress their career in childcare and join our team as an apprentice nursery practitioner.

Roles and Responsibilities
- To Safeguard children in line with the nursery's Child Protection/Safeguarding Policy, the Childcare Act (2006) and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018)
- To be a positive role model for children - demonstrating how to make good choices with regards to food, exercise, reading, making conversation, building relationships etc.
- Ensure that equal opportunities are given to all children and parents
- Supervise and support children at all times
- Maintain an attractive and welcoming environment
- Prepare and supervise activities suitable for children's age ranges and stages of development under the guidance of qualified practitioners
- Read and implement all company policies and procedures
- Adhere to policies that are updated or altered within the time scale
- See your senior with any concerns
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, visitors and work colleagues
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained
- Attend regular staff meetings and where necessary planning meetings
- Undertake training as required
- Work as part of a team
- Follow all areas of the EYFS Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage (2017) and OFSTED requirements
- Follow correct nappy changing procedures
- Follow good personal hygiene routines
- Ensure children's hygiene routines are followed
- Provide children with care, love and attention
- Ensure the room is clean and safe at all times, making sure to follow the cleaning rota
- Any other duties as required
You will gain an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Children and Young People's workforce. It is expected that applicants will have a Grade C or above in Math's and English at GCSE Level.
An enhanced disclosure is required and expenses will be met by the employer.
The successful applicant will be required to work up to 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7:30am - 6:00pm, 8 hour days with a 1 hour break.
