The Opportunity: Talent Manager - Hybrid, Purfleet, Essex.

As Talent Manager, this is an opportunity to design and deliver talent management, training and development interventions that enable the business to attract, develop and retain the very best talent in the marketplace, ultimately securing our position as an employer of choice. You will support the execution of business strategies and enhance business performance at all levels.

A Snapshot of The Opportunity:

  • In conjunction with the HR Director and other key stakeholders, you will develop, own, implement and evaluate a strong and market leading Employee Value Proposition that is aligned with the Brand values
  • You'll identify business needs and work to create and implement an efficient and cost-effective talent acquisition strategy to improve and accelerate recruitment and therefore, business performance
  • In conjunction with the HR Director, you'll develop a talent strategy that is aligned with business goals
  • You'll be tasked with developing, implementing, and owning the talent review cycle for the business and facilitate the effective use of its outputs.
  • You will own the performance management and review processes within the business ensuring that they are aligned, simple, straightforward, and fit for purpose
  • Develop and own the succession planning strategies/mechanisms and contingency frameworks, ensuring that they both minimise risk & support business objectives including the diversity agenda.
  • You'll develop, implement, and evolve strategies to create and support ongoing excellence in training & development, performance, and talent management at all levels
  • Manage and drive talent, performance & development change projects across the business
  • In conjunction with the LMS team, regularly review, develop, and evolve the LMS site and content use ensuring that it remains relevant and current
  • You will Inspire, lead, guide and support the Talent, Development & Resourcing teams to enable maximum performance

About Your Experience:

  • You'll have a proven track record in managing and overseeing a talent acquisition and development function and teams
  • Proven experience and expertise in managing each element of the talent cycle
  • Experience of landing companywide talent and development programmes across a fast-paced multi-site retail environment
  • You will have demonstrated leadership and management development design and delivery experience
  • Experience of developing and implementing, market leading development solutions and succession programmes
  • You will have a good understanding of the apprenticeship model and how best to leverage this to best effect
  • Experience and expertise in developing, implementing, and embedding performance management systems that enhance performance.
  • Experience of blended learning approaches - can (based on experience) advise what intervention would work best and why; in addition to E Learning/LMS management experience
  • Cultural development programme and organisational design experience
  • You're experienced in managing a range of projects and volume of work with strong project management skills-demonstrating the ability to identify and execute steps to achieve tasks, goals, objectives and results
  • You will have a relevant talent and development qualification and Psychometric assessment experience

  • You have a natural desire to complete assignments and deliver results
  • Capable of navigating ambiguity, showing persistence, adaptability, and resourcefulness in the face of obstacles
  • You adapt well to changing conditions and new ways of thinking and are courageous in offering innovative creative ideas and thoughtful solutions
