Job Responsibility:

Salary: Up to £80,000 plus Veolia benefits including a company bonus, car/allowance, enhanced pension and private medical

Location: Flexible/home based - with travel to our UK sites as required.

What you'll be doing:

This is an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in delivering Veolia UK's first food waste management strategy, including:

  • Continuous mapping of existing and estimated future waste flows
  • Assessment of existing disposal arrangements and replacement if necessary
  • Annual update of the food waste strategy to adapt to new trends and context
  • Review and development of infrastructure capable of handling food waste (animal feed, bioconversion, AD, etc.)
  • Detailed plan presenting the recommended disposal routes for food waste managed by Veolia across all business lines (municipal, commercial and industrial volumes)
  • Development of a strategy and operational plan to manage additional volumes arising from the implementation of the Simpler Recycling legislation

We are looking to significantly increase the volumes of food waste managed by Veolia, so you will assist Veolia's bidding teams in the development of ad-hoc food waste solutions to secure new multi-million pound contracts or renew existing contracts.

You will be responsible for overseeing the development of new infrastructure to process food surplus/waste volumes managed by Veolia.

You will look to Identify acquisition opportunities to accelerate Veolia's entry into specific markets and lead the transaction process (business case, relationship with target companies), as well as manage the integration process for a smooth mobilisation process.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous substantial experience in sales or business development in the food waste management sector, with a passion for preventing the climate crisis.
  • Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with experience of leading a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, with a focus on data driven decision making.
  • Experience in bidding for large-scale contracts, as well as delivering and scaling up innovative projects would also be desirable.
