Job Description : Area Production Manager Location: Runcorn Guinness Packaging site, England Full Time, Permanent (Day Shift) End date to apply: 14th July Do you enjoy leading teams and working in a fast-paced, exciting environment? The role is site based at Runcorn which is an 18 Acre site running a 24/7 Operation with 4 rotational crews. It has 2 Bottling, 2 Canning lines and 1 Kegging production line. There are 90+ SKUs with 16 different Beer/Liquid types, producing an average of 23million cases per annum. Our teams in 100 sites in over 30 countries cover production facilities, supplier relationships, customer collaborations and third-party agreements. We operate Guinness packaging facilities at Marshalls Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Runcorn, in North West England, producing canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, UK and export markets. Significant investment is underway at both locations. Purpose of the Role:
- Lead the Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels within the site, to deliver extraordinary performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost). Coordinate and develop departmental resources to meet a balanced business scorecard.
- Lead and advocate good governance to meet all health, safety and environment, quality, cost and reliability standards. Drive conformance to regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. ISO/HACCP etc.) and CARM controls in area to deliver successful GAR audits.
- Lead & advocate the Manufacturing Excellence Programme within area of responsibility to develop performance, standards, capabilities and asset care to exceed balanced scorecard targets.
- Provide outstanding leadership through strategic and systemic coaching, mentorship and support to all direct reports and their teams, to facilitate the achievement of department targets.
- Develop budgetary and capital plans, review existing equipment capacity and people to meet long-range planning goals that are aligned to site and company strategy.
- Actively spend 50% of time on shop floor.
Your impact on the Role:
- Day to day accountability for the Repairs & Maintenance budget as allocated from the Engineering Manager.
- Maintain and improve asset quality and reliability through effective use of Diageo AC systems.
- Encourage a breakthrough mind-set to problems faced and empower people to take ownership.
- Role model the use of systemic root cause problem-solving tools and look for evidence of their use by line teams. Mentor individuals to use & apply root cause problem-solving tools and methodology.
- Develop direct reports and employees to be the best they can be through effective breakthrough performance mentor and engagement.
- Deliver career growth conversations and personal development plans for all direct reports and hold them accountable for doing the same for their teams.
About You:
- Shown leadership experience and a phenomenal track record in a best-in-class FMCG production/manufacturing environment or similar fields.
- Strong understanding of packaging, processing & plant technologies.
- A validated champion of manufacturing excellence leadership, management, tools & techniques.
- Validated ability to build a high-performance climate within large multi-disciplined teams by effectively setting performance standards and mentoring and developing others to achieve them.
- Degree or equivalent experience level qualification ideally in an engineering or science-related subject area or qualified through validated experience.
