The Impact Development Manager will advance the impact of the University's research with a focus on delivering improved health outcomes from our life sciences and health research. There is no better time to join us than right now, when our integration with the local health and social care system and developing life sciences ecosystem is creating an incredible environment for innovation. You will be a key point of contact for academics and industry partners working with external parties at all levels of seniority; brokering areas of mutual interest; championing opportunities - internally and externally; identifying, co-developing and coordinating new opportunities for Knowledge Exchange and Impact, in particular in the faculties of Health and Life Sciences. You will take on full responsibility for one or more devolved funding streams.

You will also be expected to play a key role in the development of the team, providing guidance and mentorship to support their professional development aspirations.

You should apply if

  • Strong understanding of research impact development within higher education and of relevant funding streams; and/or business, charity or public-sector experience in applied R&D.
  • Extensive experience of convening and leading successful large collaborations and funding bids together with the ability to use analysis and judgement to solve problems, resolve ambiguity and work within grey areas.
  • Leadership experience, evidenced by a record of influencing strategy, implementing change, and developing and mentoring colleagues.
