Meet our service user
Our service user is a young boy who lives with his family, at their home in Walsall.
We're looking for a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join his team, providing care throughout the day on a 2:1 basis, during term time and non-term time.
He enjoys various types of sensory play, arts and crafts, watching Disney films and playing games on his iPad.
During term time you will accompany him on transport to and from the family home to his educational setting, where you will provide full support with his physical and clinical needs during school hours.
It is important that you promote his independence and socialisation with his friends and teachers and encourage him to develop his skills. During non-term time you will assist him in accessing the activities he enjoys. This includes going out in the community, watching films at the cinema, going swimming and spending time at the Sealife Centre where he loves to see the penguins.
It is essential that candidates can demonstrate previous experience and knowledge in tracheostomy care, preferably with children.
Our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team.
To be successful in this role it is essential that you have experience with the following:
- 3 months previous care experience
- Medication Administration
- Personal Care
- Moving and Handling
- Tracheostomy Care
Experience working with the following clinical needs is desirable, however is not essential to be considered for this role:
- Nebuliser Care
- Suctioning
- Ventilation Management
We have the following shifts available
- Term Time (Part Time Days)
- Wednesdays & Fridays (7am - 4pm)
- Non-Term Time (5-6-hour shifts between 7am - 6pm)
Take a look at our pay rates
Weekdays: £13.00 per hour (£117 approx. per 9-hour shift)
Bank Holiday: £16.50 per hour (£148.50 approx. per 9-hour shift)
