The Position

Laboratory Support Coordinator

Laboratory Support Coordinator - Supporting the NHSi region South 6. This includes the following Hospitals: Dorset County Hospital, Poole District General Hospital, Royal Bournemouth Hospital (Dorset Pathology Hub), Salisbury District General Hospital, Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth, Winchester District General Hospital, North Hampshire Hospital Basingstoke.

As part of Roche's commitment to continued patient care, we are now recruiting for a Laboratory Support Coordinator and are inviting applications from experienced field engineers, senior biomedical engineers or biomedical scientists (with sound experience in diagnostic service/support), with an ambition to advance their career further. This position is a superb opportunity for the successful candidate to provide high-quality support to the key Roche hospital pathology services in the above-mentioned region. Being field based you will provide frontline support across a variety of analytical systems covering mostly technical engineering but also including applications support, IT support and training.

Introduction to Roche Diagnostics

We are a dynamic organisation with a product portfolio which reaches across pathology diagnostic services. Our philosophy is to place the customer and patient at the centre of everything we do. This is achieved by our oneRoche approach which brings together Technical, Commercial and other areas of the business. You will be part of a targeted cross-functional team of four liaising closely with other field-based colleagues and Regional Customer Support Centre based in Burgess Hill.

Reporting to the Technical Manager for the South LSC Team, you will join a group of over 200 field and office-based Roche Diagnostics Limited employees in Technical Services, based strategically across the UK and Ireland who provide superior customer service in engineering, applications, IT and Workflow services.

Who you are

  • You will be passionate about improving and shaping successful
  • Degree-educated, HNC/HND level in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience, you will possess a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the IVD industry and have solid experience in implementing best-in-class support.
  • With the ability to provide effective support for pathology laboratory solutions, you will be motivated by exceeding customer expectations and instilling knowledge.
  • Self-motivated, you will excel in the art of troubleshooting and taking ownership and pride in your work.
  • You should be resilient, and tenacious. You thrive under pressure, working effectively as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines. As an implementer of change, you will have a questioning approach to issues, the ability to drive innovations and train, coach, mentor and develop others.
  • To be successful in this role, you will need to show a growth mindset and have the ability to approach work using agile techniques.
  • You will have some understanding of the barriers to acceptance and change management. With a confident approach and strong communication skills, you will have a desire to continually enhance service delivery and strengthen our client partnerships.
